Boy Scouting: Youth 11-17 Years Old
We offer the traditional Scouting experience for youth in the fifth grade through high school. Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
Boy Scouts has a lot to offer, but don’t let the number of merit badges scare you away. With exposure to a uniquely hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to earn merit badges reflecting each Scout’s budding interests, youth unlock a world of discovery around them and forge a path for the future.

Advancement/Awards
There are more than 150 awards you can earn as a Boy Scout including rank advancement, merit badge or one of the many other individual awards.
High Adventure
Nobody offers more exhilarating or a wider variety of high adventure for young people. Through high adventure experiences, The BSA leaves lasting memories with youth and fosters development in character and leadership.
Order of the Arrow
The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s national honor society. The OA focuses on service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults.
Youth Training
This section provides a variety of materials, from quick references to complete courses, all designed to help our members improve leadership skills and deliver a quality program.
Overnight Camping
A big part of the Boy Scout program is overnight camping. Scouts learn the skills and develop resources for survival, first aid and more while enjoying the great outdoors.
Adult Leader Training
This section provides a variety of materials, from quick references to complete courses, all designed to help our members improve leadership skills and deliver a quality program.

Troop 4166 Eagle Scouts
Here are a few testimonials from Eagle Scouts and Leaders from Troop 4166
Troop 4166 has a long history of developing young men into the Eagle Scouts of tomorrow. It’s heritage and teachings were influential in my life as a youth and as an adult. Scouts instills young men with a sense of understanding, ethics, and insight that no other organization in the world provides.
Poplar Bluff Troop 4166 was instrumental in building me. Scouting taught that not everything in life goes as it should. You adjust with your teammates without compromising your values from the Scout Oath & Law. I’m extremely thankful for the chance I was given to be part of Troop 4166.
Over the years, Troop 4166 has prvoided a sense of adventure, instilled confidence, and provided tools to accomplish things unimaginable at the journeys first steps. Nothing a young man can accomplish before he is eighteen years old will be more precious to him when he is 50 than achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. And besides…we have a lot of FUN.
